Apple: no support for jailbreaking iPhone 3GS

iPhone 3G JailbreakingApple has recently made it clear that any jailbroken iPhone 3GS will not be supported, under it terms of service. The key paragraph says:

“…Use constitutes acceptance of Apple’s software license agreement and third-party terms located in the iPhone box. Unauthorized modification of your iPhone software violates the software license agreement. Inability to use an iPhone due to unauthorized modifications is not covered under your warranty.”

So there you have it, something to be aware of if you are getting the new iPhone 3GS. However, Dev-Team claims it has already jailbroken iPhone OS 3.0. It’s unclear if this will be effective on iPhone 3GS, considering the hardware differences.

Apple is constantly adding new features to the iPhone and iPhone OS and removing limitations to allow for more complex apps to be developed, but this move comes as an unclear restriction.
