Apple appears to have waited for Steve Jobs to come back from his medical leave to announce that the company has sold over 1 million iPhone on the first weekend of it launch. Apple has already expected high demand for the new iPhone 3GS, but the number of sales appears to have broken the records of the first iPhone. In Apple’s press release:
“Customers are voting and the iPhone is winning,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “With over 50,000 applications available from Apple’s revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is stronger than ever.”
Steve Jobs was out of the office for nearly 3 months as rumours says he had undergone a liver transplant. It’s not yet clear if Steve is back to Apple on full time basis.
